The tourism industry in SA suffered immensely due to the devastating effect Covid-19 lockdown had, and still have, on the sector. André founded the Series Rally concept in support of the local tourism industry. The first Series Rally took place during August 2020 when lockdown regulations were eased to allow cross-provincial and leisure travel. André identifies an area to take the Rally to, does a recce, drafts an itinerary to add value to the area and facilities within the area, and markets the Rally adventure. Itineraries often include meals at restaurants in the identified area, 4x4 activities, visits to interesting places such as museums, camping and lodging, and often lesser known / visited tourism facilities such as the Tswaing Crater near Soshanguve, giving valued support and exposure to places visited. The Series Rally changed name to Landy Rally and is open to all Land Rovers.
